Although we've been AWOL for the past couple of months I had started writing several posts but never got around to finishing any of them, so I thought what better way to bring you up to speed than to put a few short posts together in one longer post for a quick round up-catch up as I sit here in A&E at the Royal Surrey County Hospital with my dad in the wee small hours
Unfortunately my dad took a tumble earlier today and dislocated his hip, we had hoped that was all it was as the paramedics took him off to hospital, but x-rays revealed a fractured hip and dad needs surgery to fix
As I post this I'm currently waiting to see the Doctor for more information the information my dad gave me is very sketchy because of his Alzheimer's, he'd already been x-rayed and told he needed surgery before I even got to the hospital in my car, soon as I know more I'll update you

Boris knows he's handsome and is always camera ready, which is really lucky after a long old day at the eye clinic with my dad yesterday
The worst part by far though was the 90 minutes it took us to get out of the hospital car park and onto the A3 due to the sheer weight of traffic also trying to exit the hospital and surrounding research park at the same time

I finally got dad home at around 1900 and he was absolutely exhausted poor thing, I got him settled and made him a sandwich then I was back onto the A3 heading back the way I'd just come to get back home before my day at the hospital could end when I walked through my own front door
A "simple" trip to the hospital with my either of my parents is a 51 mile round trip dor to door for me. Yesterday I left my house at 1330 to collect dad and returned back to my own home at around 2030 last night
The traveling alone day in day out to my parents house is bone crushingly exhausting, add in an appointment and that really messes my day up
How I hate Dementia!
Life really sucks because I'm so over tired and feeling totally overwhelmed with everything at the moment

Eko Says - Yep that's me working hard during a training session at our local Sainsbury's hence my most serious of faces
It was quite late and the perfect time for a 10 minute training session with hardly anybody around trying to distract me with cooing noises or trying to stroke me without asking
I get why people want to say hello to me, I mean just look at me I'm absolutely gorgeous, but as an assistance dog in training I'm there to learn and support my mum, I'm not a novelty plaything for others to distract
If you ever see an assistance dog working please just ignore them, distracting them may cause them to miss an important medical alert for some handlers
There are many reasons why somebody needs an assistance dog and not all of them are visible, if you really can't resist then always speak to the hander first and never the dog
Rewarded for all my hard work with the pawtasicly tasty Paleo Ridge Venison Bites
