Looking for the magic in every moment

For the first time in ages yesterday we had no time limit for our walk, it was great to just have the time to go wherever the dogs led me

We were soon on a part of the common I'd not been too for a very long time, I used to often walk this route with Badger but it always felt so weird walking that way after he'd left us for the Rainbow Bridge, so I've always avoided it, but the boys wanted to go that way and I duly followed as it was their walk after all

The rain soon started and I wanted to turn around and head back but the boys had other ideas, they were far too busy racing around in the wet bracken when suddenly the most beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky

A stillness and quietness seemed to settle over the common, even the boys momentarily stopped racing around and stood stock still looking up at the sky

Now I'm not a superstitious person but it really felt like something magical was happening, as if we were being welcomed back to that part of the common once more as the weirdness I used to feel had disappeared

I've often wondered if Eko is somehow spiritually connected to Badger, some of Eko's mannerisms are just so Badger it's spooky

From how he curls up to sleep on our bed in Badgers exact spot between us, his sitting on the 4th stair to watch me in the kitchen for any falling food, to demanding his treat at 2100 every night so promptly that you can set your clock by him

These are just a few of Badgers mannerisms that Eko seems to have taken on, it could be that I've subconsciously taught Eko these mannerisms, but if that's the case then why hasn't Boris taken any of them on?

There's more to this world than science can explain and I probably sound more than a tiny bit bonkers this early in the morning

But Eko just woke me with the same 3 short sharp barks that Badger used to use whenever he needed to be let outside, because Eko also needed to go outside to potty urgently
