It's Finally here

Today's the day, mum is coming home from hospital at last, it's been 8 weeks since she suffered a stroke in the garden

The neighbours children all got together and drew a lovely Welcome Home sign on the footpath outside of their house for all to see, which was a lovely idea, especially as I'd run out of time to make my own banner because of getting the house ready to accommodate a wheelchair
,

As difficult as our journey has been over these past 8 weeks, it pales into insignificance compared to the enormity of mums journey to get to this point where she can come home again

Our individual journeys will continue as we all adjust to a whole new way of life, there will no doubt be many more ups and downs along the way, but we will get through it one way or another

Everything is in order, the room is sorted and the hospital furniture is in, I just need to pop down today to make the bed and add some finishing touches to make it more inviting

I was originally going to do it all tomorrow before mums arrival, but woke up this morning and decided today is a better day, my mind is calm and I'll be able to faff about in my own time getting it all just right today

If I leave it all until tomorrow it may end out being very busy
How I wish I'd taken some photos of that room before I startrushed and then I'll be stressed out when mum arrives home which I don't want, especially if there's a communication issue re her arrival time
ed clearing it out, to look back on and remember just how full of stuff it was compared to now, who knows they might even have inspired me to sort my own spare room of junk out lol

We still have the massive job of going through everything to reduce it, there's now boxes and boxes of stuff secreted all over the house in some really odd places, wherever I could get it to fit that was out of the way it went

It wasn't my place to decide what stuff of mums to get rid of and what to keep, but now it's all boxed up we can go through it a box at a time in slow time

I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who's supported us through this difficult time, I really couldn't have done it without you all in my corner to hold me up when it all got too much, especially on the days that I became so frustrated I could only cry and do nothing at the enormity of the task ahead of us to get everything sorted out in time for mum to come home again

    1. Yes the kids were great, I received a photo of it from the house opposite from an upstairs window and it was beautiful, unfortunately I couldn't share that one as it had several of the neighbours children in it, but I think mine still shows the amount of hard work and love they put into it xxx
